General Terms and Conditions

Use of the Art History Images website is subject to the following terms and conditions.

  1. No photo displayed on the Art History Images (AHI) website may be published anywhere else without licensing or explicit written permission.
  2. Licensed photos may only be used as specified on the request form and/or in written correspondence with AHI. Usage that exceeds the license will incur an additional charge. None of our licenses are royalty free.
  3. No photos displayed on AHI may be used in any context that is defamatory, violent, pornographic or offensive to a reasonable person.
  4. The publisher of the image has the sole responsibility for obtaining any releases (e.g. model or property) or permissions that may be required for publication.
  5. The photographer retains full copyright to the photo under all licenses.
  6. No photo licensed from AHI may be redistributed or resold under any circumstances.
  7. For editorial uses, the photographer must be credited as shown beneath the photo on our photo preview page (e.g. "[Photographer]/Art History Images"). A separate page of credits is acceptable.
  8. For editorial web use, the credit line must include an active link to http://www.art-history-images.com.
  9. You may crop or edit any photo licensed from AHI before publication. The photographer retains the copyright to all derivate versions of the photo.
